BACK WITH TRURO CITY FC
After a couple of months of planning and negotiation I was back yesterday at Treyew Road, the home of Truro City FC, filming their Vanarama National League South fixture against Gloucester City FC. It was a day for experimentation both in terms of offering opportunities to a couple TruthFal students and trying out some new graphic overlays.
The day didn’t start well. I set up my camera in the open stand only to find precipitation on the lens and the need to film from the older stand – one not known for its helpful elevation or outlook. On a positive note Falmouth University Sports Journalism and Writing undergraduate Tom Harris came through his first matchday commentary well, ably assisted by his summariser Glynn Hooper. Ed Hale did a good post match interview with Truro City Manager, Lee Hodges, and picked up some additional footage along the way.
As for the graphics. I made some schoolboy errors in my preparation of the graphics on a separate timeline which caused all sorts of encoding and exposure problems. I’ll get that right next time out.
